iTunes University

iTunes University could be a very useful way for students and teachers to communicate outside of the classroom. Also, some students may be more likely to get their work completed if they do not have to go to the school to do so. They can just pull up their assignments on their iPod or iPhone while at home, work, out with friends or even on vacation.
Although, if someone were not very computer savvy it may be difficult for them to get to the assignment and/or even complete it and submit it, if that needed to be done online. There are always advantages and disadvantages to the use of technology.

Week 8

Duke University intends to conduct an experiment with its freshman class using iPods. iPods are excellent for transmitting certain types of data from the teacher to the student but not really all that great if the teacher wants a response from the student.
An article from "Duke's Daily Newspaper says that most Duke students are planning on using their iPod for music storage and listening." The article continues in saying, "students will be able to use their iPods in the future to obtain materials, meant to enhance their learning experiences in the classroom."

This website tells how to use a blog to build a classroom community, allowing students to connect with each other as well as the teachers. This also allows students to keep up with assignments, which gives them no excuse to forget. I feel that this is a useful tool for every classroom and should be utilized more.

This website allows the parents to see what the kids are doing in the classroom. Also, it makes it easier for the parents and teachers to communicate and relay information. This also allows the parents to see their kids grades and progress in the class, as well as their upcoming assignments and their deadlines.

ACCESS

Just about everything in todays society involves some form of technology. ACCESS has the resources available for the teachers to teach their students more about technology and how to use it. ACCESS has been able to create a program that responds to the demands for educational access that has been identified as lacking by the Govenors in the state. Many teachers and students enjoy and get more out of online courses.

2nd post for week one

When I begin teaching, I more than likely with use Alex as one of my daily resources because it is very helpful and useful. I may also give my students the web address so that they also can use the resources available to the students. At times, I may even use the lesson plans depending on the course content.
I feel that this website will be used greatly and daily by myself as well as my students. I think that I will encourage my students to use every resource available to them.

Week 2 Assignment

Alex is a great resource for teachers, giving information and helpful guides for each course of study. It includes lesson plans with step-by-step guides for teaching. also, there are web links available for teachers, administrators and students. As well as a search site that could be helpful for students as well.
Alex also includes information on professional development opportunities, teaching and learning tool, the latest news, best practices and more. As well as teacher resources to enhance professional growth and communication.

Fischbowl

I totally agree with the movie about kids today being educated and ready for what is going to come in the future with technology. I know the personally I can not live without my computer or the internet. It is where I do all of my bill paying and keeping up with relatives and friends and also both of my current jobs. So really I could not do without it.
